Travel will broaden your mind. When you travel to various places in the world, you start to notice that the world is a big and big place. You start to notice that you and your hometown are quite different from other people and places (but still a bit). Since globalization began, transportation costs have steadily declined by technology, making it easier to find cheaper transportation.
As to how cheap to travel in Europe, many people are always surprised (I am currently in Vancouver). When I tell them how much I will pay for the flight, they always amaze their jaws and say "Whaaat?" Some of my own European counterparts are also shocked (however, with the dawn of the economic recession, this is becoming rare). This person usually talks about how to spend hundreds or thousands of flights for holidays. I do not understand it, but maybe people just do not know. Nevertheless I will share my experience with you as to how I get cheap flights and cheap holidays. The first thing you have to do now is to get rid of any preconceptions you have about an airline or airport. Unfortunately, crowded airports and bad airlines have always existed (and always existed).
1: Reserved
This seems obvious, but I have to emphasize the point to you. This may literally mean $$$. Reserve it online. It will save you much trouble for you. The first thing you have to do to make a cheap trip is to get rid of the concept in your head that the airline should fit around your schedule. There are millions of potential customers trying to use flights the same week after first reserving a holiday. Instead, please reserve a vacation first after booking your flight. Doing this means that you are not limiting your flexibility and you have the option of choosing the cheapest one by scrolling through different dates. The vast majority airlines are currently offering online reservations, and I have had a great success with this in the last few years. I went from Dublin to Leeds for less than 10 euros (returning for 4 days), 40 euros to Barcelona (5 days' return) and Dublin from Vancouver to 701 euros (returning for 3 months but staying longer) is there. Just because I did not limit myself to the schedule. I reserved a flight despite any schedule (unless I hastened these opportunities more than I am sure someone else has).
It is not a good example either. I talked with half of the amount I paid with people traveling around the place. I admire people for such innovation. Competition among these people creates a great relationship. It adds fun to holidays for your wallet and to book a better option. Some people are misled by thinking that paying more means to get more. Why do you want to fly at a private airline so you can arrive on time on a budget airline like Ryanair or Easyjet usually in just a few minutes?
2: Supply and demand
Yes, there is economics related to booking cheap airline tickets. Let's say there are 50 seats on an airplane. It is very logical to assume that they are all the same price. Now when someone buys a seat, there are only 49 for the rest. Because there are few remaining seats, the demand and prices of the remaining seats are expected to rise. That is because it has relationships with economic laws of supply and demand. Always remember this whenever you book a flight that the price you see today will be different from tomorrow.
While flying it is always a good idea to assume a businessman (or woman)'s attitude. Companies are constantly working to reduce costs, save time and expand profits (anyone who is fired will tell you). So then why can not we be the same as ours? We should always try to make use of efficiency.
3: Terms of use
When you fly for the first time on a new airline it is important to read the terms of service paying special attention to special charges or fine. Ryan Air (the best airline in history) has a reputation for this point. All of these fees are actually designed to make airlines more efficient and profitable. So yes, they overcharge for your luggage, but that means the airplane carries less baggage and there is less safety delay and the airplane almost always takes off in time. Just because the terms of use exist to promote efficiency does not mean that it is not compulsory. Today, open a contract condition in a new window / tab (or download a document), press Ctrl key and F key (cmd and F in Mac), enter keywords or letters keywords. So now the computer has given you an easy way to familiarize yourself with very troublesome documents. Please use wisely.
4: Become your own travel agency
I remember Michael O'Leary jokingly saying "I should shoot all travel agencies side by side on the wall". He is a particularly straightforward individual, but many people felt this too far (even if it was just ordinary Irish humor). O'Leary suggested that many individuals were misused by brokers. If you book your flight yourself, book your accommodation yourself, or make everything else, you can save considerable cost and time. The Internet has allowed us to cut mediators, but many people still rely on them as if they have some moving shortcuts through the system. Somehow, I doubt that. I save money myself and I do everything myself. There are only three things you need to understand: reaching there, staying there, and avoiding while you are there (probably also travel insurance).
5: Do not think about only airlines
There are cars, intercontinental trains, boats, cruise ships, and lucky submarines and rockets. Hopefully soon we will have teleportation, or at least travel at light speed.
6: Take something you want rather than what you want
Please take the minimum necessary when traveling. There is nothing worse than dragging your suitcase with clothes and jewelry totally for 3 days off. Instead of considering what you need to bring, think exactly what you can cut away! I used to fall into this trap once. I would like to put books, handheld consoles (and games as well), dozens of socks, underwear, swim trunks, and lots of clothes in my bags. For the first time in many years I have noticed that half of this was meaningless as it was not used. That's why I carried baggage with no reason. The power of hindsight never stops surprising me. Little portability means that the cost is low. It also has the added ability of more mobility and lighter load while walking at the airport ..

7: Make the most of it
Please remember told me to bring lots of luggage while traveling. Well I did not want to explore. I grab a book or grab a Game Boy and sit in the corner. I regret these behaviors now, but I hope that I should not regret it. When I go home from a holiday, I want to be able to tell people about everything I did (that is my vanity). Your friends came back from the holidays and they only need to say "lying on the beach for sunburn", not much worse. I have no problem with this, but I could not imagine doing it myself. Do not forget this is your vacation is not someone else. Do not do anyone else's schedule, but do whatever you (and your family) want. I am ready to grab a good opportunity when you see it. Do not miss a wonderful opportunity to explore new parts of the world just because you made an excuse.
